Clinical Psychiatry Professor Dr. Joseph Lasek

After earning his pre-med biology degree at Cornell University, Dr. Joseph Lasek earned his medical degree (MD) in psychiatry from the University of Vermont College of Medicine. He subsequently completed his post-graduate residency training, which included one year as assistant chief resident in psychiatry and two years as chief resident in psychiatry. Dr. Joseph Lasek also holds an MD in medicine from the State University of New York Upstate Medical University.

Since 2006, Dr. Joseph Lasek has served as a clinical assistant professor in psychiatry at the University of Vermont College of Medicine in Burlington, a position that involves mentoring medical students and residents, teaching classes, and delivering lectures. He balances his academic duties with his work as a solo practitioner at Solid Ground Psychiatry, PLC, in Shelburne. He previously spent two years as the medical director of a Middlebury-based community mental health center and 15 years as the Medical Director for Adult Services at the Howard Center.

Dr. Lasek is a member of the Vermont Psychiatric Association. His interests outside of medicine include woodworking, gardening, and hiking.
